Roine Stolt

Roine Stolt
Swedish guitarist, songwriter and singer, born September 5, 1956 in Uppsala. He is the front man in the Swedish progressive rock bands The Flower Kings and Kaipa Da Capo.

Stolt's career began in 1974 when he became a member of the Swedish symphony rock band Kaipa at the age of seventeen. He appeared as a guitarist and songwriter on three albums before leaving the group in May 1979 to instead pursue a solo career. However, it was not until 1994 that he with his solo project The Flower King achieved such great success that it was possible to form a real band again and play live regularly. This was the start of the band The Flower Kings.

In 1999, together with Neal Morse, Mike Portnoy and Pete Trewavas, he formed the supergroup Transatlantic.

In 2008, Stolt started the Agents of Mercy project with, among others, the singer Nad Sylvan.

Roine Stolt is today one of the most well-known musicians in progressive rock. During the 2000s, he has appeared on three albums with a revived Kaipa and two albums with The Tangent. During the 2010s, he has toured with Steve Hackett and done a duo project with Jon Anderson.
