The World of Skin was a project springing out of theAmerican group Swans, which was a collaborationbetween the core Swans members Michael Gira andJarboe. The project was initially called Skin, with thefirst two albums being released under that name, thelast one being released under the name the World ofSkin.Blood, Women, Roses (1987) was the projects firstrelease and featured vocals entirely by Jarboe, whohad previously mainly been performing backingvocals. Many of the tracks on this album were coversof show tunes and other popular songs (for example"Cry Me a River" and "The Man I Love").This classic release has now been made availableagain.For fans ofSwans, Michael Gira, Angels Of Light, Diamanda Galas
