Miah Persson
Swedish soprano, born 27 May 1969 in Örnsköldsvik. She grew up in Hudiksvall and now resides in England.

When she grew she sang in choirs and participated in amateur theatre. After a year's stay in Paris, in 1991 she began music studies at Kulturama in Stockholm. In 1994, she started her training as an opera singer - first at Operastudio 67 and from 1996 at the Academy of Opera in Stockholm.

Her opera debut was as Susanna in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro at Confidencen in 1998.

At the Royal Opera, she has had leading roles in Mozart's operas, including Sandrina in Love on the Run (1999), Barbarina and Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro (1999 and 2016) and Pamina in The Magic Flute (2000). Other roles include Frasquita in Bizet's Carmen (1999), Dorinda in Handel's Orlando (2000), Tebaldo in Verdi's Don Carlos (2000) and Gabrielle in Offenbach's Pariserliv (2001) and others.

Persson has also had many engagements outside of Sweden, including in Paris, Berlin, Brussels, Vienna, Innsbruck and Wellington. In Richard Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier from the Salzburger Festspiele in 2004, she sang the role of Sophie. In addition to opera, she has also appeared as a concert singer at the Proms and Wigmore Hall in London.

She became court singer in 2011.
