Born Baldemar Huerta in the Rio Grand Valley town of San Benito, Texas in 1937 - Freddy Fender had a career that spanned several decades and touched on elements of Rhythm & Blues, Tejano, Doo-Wop, Soul, Rock 'n' Roll, and more.
