Black clamshell box with 64 page booklet, folded poster and hype sticker. The booklet reprints lyrics of Christ - The Album and lists a number of organisations at the end, but most of the booklet is taken up by The Last Of The Hippies - An Hysterical Romance, a text by Penny Rimbaud incorporating a number of quotes by members of the Crass family and others.

Front of box shows Crass logo and the words <i>as it was in the beginning</i> but that is not the title of this release (it is the title of a series).

Christ - The Album was recorded and mixed at Southern Studios, London, between July 1981 and February 1982 (...)
Well Forked - But Not Dead (...) The live recording was made on a 4 track machine on the 9th June, 1981 at the 100 Club, London. Heart-throb Of The Mortuary and I Can't Stand It were our first efforts in a studio, a small 4 track in Soho, made in summer 1977. Heart-throb was later played on some pirate radio show, the name of which none of us can remember, and it is from that show that this track has been taken. The end of Securicor and beginning of I Can't Stand It are from a cassette recording of a gig we did at the Action Space Drill Hall, London on No. 16th 1977. The insert tapes, Arlington 73, etc., were made throughout the period that we were recording and mixing the studio album

On CD 2 two tracks merge into one a few times creating 19 tracks on the actual CD rather than 25 as listed on page 3 of booklet. Those titles were joined by a / in the track listing.

The overall package was designed at Exitstencil Press.
