Gerson King Combo's 1977 self-titled album is a masterpiece of Brazilian soul, emerging within the Black Rio movement and recorded with Unio Black as the backing band. It features the kind of full-on funky sound you'd expect to hear from a only very few American groups of the time. Its 10 songs mix political statements with dancefloor-oriented music. The album has achieved cult status over the years, becoming one of the most sought-after Brazilian funk records of all times. This reissue on 180-GRAM VINYL comes with remastered sound from the original tapes.
