CDs 1, 3–9, 10 [4–6, 11 and 12 transferred from the original 2- and 3-track
analogue tapes by Brett Zinn, Iron Mountain Digital Studios,
mixed and mastered by Martin Kistner, Matthias Erb and Hansjörg Seiler,
b-sharp music & media solutions, using 24 bit / 192 kHz Technology
A note on the mastering of this edition:
The analogue tape transfers for this edition have been made at high resolution 24 bit / 192 kHz to
achieve best possible mastering results. However, during the mastering process it became apparent
that some tapes – while sounding brilliant – contained tape hiss throughout. We did our best to
reduce the tape hiss while keeping the brilliance of the recordings. For CD 12 the tape material
turned out to be highly problematic; however, we were able to restore the original audio with
good results. For CD 2 and CD 10 [1–3, only digital audio sources survived.
