Lowered

Lowered is a solo and collaborative project founded by UK artist Chris Gowers - whom released a couple of EPs and albums on Morc under the moniker Karina ESP. Loosely described as "acoustic abstract drone music", Lowered recordings are slower and more contemplative than the Karina ESP ones, and explore the intricacies of tone, the subjectivity of experience and the nature of environment. A sort of slow-motion chamber music, with silence as the conductor. As the fourth Lowered full length, 'Music For Empty Rooms' explores the nature of dissonance, resonance and silence, in response to experiential loss and displacement, using the unprocessed sounds of piano, singing bowls, tam-tam, cello and mostly room tones. A very intense but rewarding listening experience. Recommended if you like R.O.T., Alex Zhang Hungtai, Kali Malone, Maninkari, Hala Strana, abstract soundscapes and silence.
