Poor Isa is the duo of Frederik Leroux and Ruben Machtelinckx. On their splitalbum when the shade is stretched both play the banjo. For this project thebanjo forms the base once more, supplemented with woodblocks as adistinct sound and smaller acoustic effects. This duo is built on prepared banjo and woodblocks, a combination thatexpresses a surging condition in which silence and sound are equivalent. Fromimprovisations, elements are magnified, isolated or developed further untilrippling compositions arise in which subtle and hardly audible sounds come tothe surface. The project resulted in 'let's drink the sea and dance', a bundle ofnine compositions. The album title is inspired by the work of Philippe Vandenberg.
