A split album is a marriage of autonomous partners. Each artist presents a limited selection of music. Both sides relate to each other, but they do not intertwine. On Aspens second split, Shahzad Ali Ismaily and Niels Van Heertum autonomously were inspired by the sea and its covert world. What unites Ismailys sea legs and Van Heertums hum back is the pace, the use of extraordinary sounds and the strangely organic and acoustic creation of the music.
