On the Hi-Fi Vol.1 is the debut collaboration between Howard Ryan now of Hauras and Sam Sharp of smallertide. On the Hi-Fi is a long-distance collaboration between Howard in San Francisco and Sam in Minneapolis using Phones, effects and guitars to brew up a concoction of songs and sounds that bring the likes of the Residents and Mercury Rev to mind."First released on cassette, it's a mail based collab between musicians in San Francisco and Minneapolis. The music is song based, over a muzzy mix of organics and electronics.
