“Buckle your harnesses and lower your visors.” How strange it feels to be strapped in this horizontal position. In the cockpit, all is calm, focused. Banks of flashing diodes accompany the final seconds of the countdown timer.
“Ignition!”
The boosters roar to life, there’s no turning back! The Supergombo spaceship tears away from its launching pad, bursting through the clouds and leaving the heavy blanket of the night far behind.
After an infinite hypersleep, light-years from home, the crew finally beholds an unexplored galaxy. A solar system of an alien space-time emerges like a futuristic dream from times gone by.
Fuel-tanks bursting with afro-funk, Supergombo navigates fearlessly through these unchartered territories. Polyrhythmic percussion thrusters weave a devastating groove that blasts a path through the asteroid fields, destroying the largest with killer drum breaks and deflecting the rest with their deep bass vibrations.
Soft landings and brutal blast-offs, hyperspace joystick at full-throttle, mission Sigi Tolo leads Supergombo to explore verdant and hostile planets, moonscapes perfect for meditation and surreal worlds where technology rules over human lifeforms, reducing them to simple electronic components. Illuminated by its shimmering keyboards, the Supergombo odyssey embarks on a cinematic and retro-futuristic quest.
And, back on Earth, while chaos reigns in a studio become mission control - where radars, scopes and devices of all kinds scream alarm for having lost them, the Supergombo crew glides effortlessly in their vessel carved of African wax, warded by their musical amulets, with brass striating the endless ether of the universes that through Sigi Tolo they have explored, tamed and conquered.
