Mixed & Mastered by Maximo Ruiz

The album opens with Bill Monroe's classic LONESOME ROAD, a bluegrass theme originally developed by Mitch in a more electrified version, with his guitar as the protagonist and unleashed, in a line that reminds me of Joe Maphis from Fire In The Strings or the del Hurricane with Larry Collins.

Follow FORTY PLUS YEARS, a country song with a heavy rhythm, with a lot of rock supporting the subject, pure American sound, composed by Mitch himself, as well as the next one on the album, HOPPED UP ON YOUR LOVE, where a certain blues vein appears, providing a slightly dark country counterpoint, very well placed for what the general listening of the LP entails.

Side A closes with a wonderful revision of Roger Miller's I'VE BEEN A LONG TIME LEAVING, which rang the bell in the version that Waylon Jennings recorded in 1974. Mitch's revision drinks from Waylon's in the forms, but He personalizes it by wearing a piece of guitar solo that makes the scrotum hairs look like spikes. A slow-cooked wonder that closes the first side with a flourish.

Back on vinyl and opening the B side we find Jimmie Rodgers' classic T FOR TEXAS, to the rhythm of powerful rockabilly. This theme is one of the usual ones in Mitch's repertoire, and its recording on record is appreciated. It is followed by another version, the HEARTACHES & HANGOVER by the great George 'Possum' Jones, sounding solid and contained, and again marking the differences with a stone guitar in the rhythm and razor sharp in the solos.

To close another song composed by Mitch, YOU MOVE ME, in which Mitch's bluesy vein is once again marked by fire, although without losing the country roots. Great epilogue for a very good album, perfectly interpreted, very well balanced and produced at the right point to enjoy music made from the heart with sound.
