The Valiants
Named after the members local scooter club the Rossendale Valiants!
The band was formed by ex punk and former Grout member \“Paul Paint\” on guitar vocals, a great front man Mozz (Mark Morrison) lead Vocals, on drums Kirk (TinTin) Fletcher and a talented young bassist Flanny, Carl Flannigan! A.
After starting out doing gigs at the 'Bridge Inn', word rapidly spread throughout the scooter scene and the Valiants were on their way! Commanding a huge following and their fee ramped up to peak at £400 a gig unbelievable at the time and in one particular week they did 4 gigs enabling Paul Paint to buy a brand new USA fender strat which was used on all recordings and gigs there after.
Their most famous gig was at the 'Cats Whiskers', a large venue in Burnley and they packed it out to capacity and landed them selves a record deal with 'Look' records and recorded a full album at 'September Sounds Studio' meeting amazing people like Elvis Costello, and even ABBA’s tour manager!.
Unfortunately one of their members robbed some very expensive studio mikes and they were kicked out (pure rock n roll), however some of the original album tapes although not a final mix were secretly copied and a few survived and now can be released!.
The energy and vibe of the era is preserved in every track!.
