American record label and management company founded in 1993 by Barry Hankerson, initially to release music by his niece, Aaliyah.
The label switched distribution deals over time and eventually changed its name to Blackground Entertainment then Blackground Records.

Please look up the logo on a specific release carefully to distinquish which one of these three labels should be used.
