Originally incorporated on Dec. 10th, 1969 as "Stratton-Smith Productions Ltd". The company was renamed to "Charisma Records Ltd" on Nov. 22nd, 1973.

On Jan. 31st, 1985 the company was acquired by Virgin Records Ltd., subsequently on April. 27th, 2004 Charisma Records Ltd. reassigned the rights to the Charisma trademark (imprint) to EMI (IP) Ltd., an intellectual property holding company for ultimate parent EMI Group Plc
