In 1987 the Pee Wee blues gang released their 7th album, "A Soft Suicide". As so often before and later, the five musicians recorded the songs live in the studio. The 10 tracks on this album don't come across as a "gentle suicide". Rather, the unusual album title has its origins in San Francisco. Richard Hagel met a "poor poet" there, who not only gave Hagel a few poems to use in his lyrics, but also suggested the album title! The recordings in Munster's Jovel Studio lasted only one day, during which the band also introduced their new keyboardist Werner Melzig. Otherwise, the established formation Richard Hagel (vocals), Thomas Hesse (guitar), Heribert Grothe (bass) and Friedbert Falke (drums) were on board. The result is a typical Pee Wee mix of galloping blues rock and goose-skinning ballads. Masterful guitar solos, sensitive vocal passages on the rock-solid basis of drums and bass! With this release, the last album of the Iserlohn blues rockers has now also been released on Sireena Records on CD. A job that the label really enjoyed.
