Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest
In 1985 the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest was officially created by merging the Amsterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Utrechts Stedelijk Orkest and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra with latter remaining a separate operating entity within the Stichting Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest. Orchestra and foundation (Stichting) were up to 2012 based in the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam but moved in early 2012 to the Gerardus Majellakerk in Amsterdam.

Note 1: for the unofficial orchestra, usually credited as Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, that made recordings for Musical Masterpiece Society in the 50s / 60s please use Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest.

Note 2: for the orchestra often credited as Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and founded in 1945, use Radio Filharmonisch Orkest.

Notable guest conductors over the years have been: Rudolf Barshai, Andrew Litton, Markus Stenz, Claus Peter Flor, Emmanuel Krivine, Yehudi Menuhin, Hans Vonk and Gerd Albrecht.
