Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal
Canadian orchestra based in Montreal, Quebec.
Founded in 1979 under the name Orchestre Les Variations, it became in 1980 the official orchestra of the Concerts Lachine. In 1981, it changed its name to Orchestre Métropolitain du Grand Montréal and finally simply Orchestre Métropolitain.
Musical directors: Marc Bélanger (from 1981 to 1986), Agnès Grossmann (1986-1995), Joseph Rescigno (1995-2000), Yannick Nézet-Séguin (from 2000 on).
