Ray Brown is an Australian musician. He founded Ray Brown & The Whispers in 1965, but after 9 singles, several EP's and an album, the band was disbanded the following year. After an attempt to find success with "The New Whispers", Brown moved to the US, where he signed an unsuccessful record deal with Capitol Records. In 1970 Brown returned to Australia, and founded Moonstone, and "One Ton Gypsy" in 1971.
