Sammy Rimington
English traditional jazz clarinetist, alto saxophonist, guitarist, born April 29, 1949 in London, England.
Rimington started his professional career in 1959 with Barry Martyn, then played with Ken Colyer 1960-1965. From 1965 he worked in the USA, after returning to Europe, he played in Belgium with Martyn and led his own band in England (1969); later experimenting with jazz rock as leader of Armada in 1971. From mid-1970s played with George Webb, Chris Barber and other, and in own groups.
