The creation of the OnSong Record Label comes as a direct result of many in-depth discussions over the years by friends and lifelong music fans, Benny Gallagher and Derek Wilson, which voiced their concern over the state of the Music Industry. In particular, the lack of investment in the Art of Song - the very lifeblood of the Industry and the current tendency of both T.V. and Music Industry to reduce it to the level of Karaoke.
GALLAGHER... former Staff Writer with Apple, the Beatles Publishing Company, founder member of McGuinness Flint, and member of Ronnie Lane and the Slim Chance Band before achieving success as a recording artist in his own right - brings his considerable knowledge of the Artistic and Business side of the music Industry to the Label.
WILSON..... brings his total passion for music and a wealth of experience in both the record retail and service industry to the Label.
For sheer quality and distinction you need look no further than the career of Benny Gallagher. One half of hit makers and blue chip songwriters Gallagher & Lyle; he began his career as a staff writer with the Beatles Music Pub. Co. Apple writing songs for lifelong friend and Apple Records biggest artist Mary Hopkin. Benny has always considered his early years at Apple, especially, the constant encouragement of Paul McCartney, as one of the most important factors in his de-velopment as a songwriter.
